June: The Compound x Post Flirtation

June's book and wine pairing was selected in honor of Love Island USA Season 8 premiering, we're reading The Compound. And frankly, this wine would also pair perfectly with watching Love Island as well. The book is basically what would happen if a reality dating show went completely off the rails. Contestants waking up in a desert compound, fighting over champagne and lipstick. It's creepy, it's addictive, and you will absolutely stay up too late reading it. Fair warning.

Now for the wine. Martha Stoumen's Post Flirtation White is a Northern California natural white blend and it is SO good. Bright, mineral, super drinkable. We're talking grapefruit, white peach, a little ocean air. It basically tastes like a good time. The name alone felt too perfect not to pour alongside a book about love and desperation dressed up as a dating show. While Lily is out there competing for luxury rewards that never actually make her happy, you get to sit back and watch the drama.
