July: Alchemised x Moreau-Naudet, Chablis

While reading I thought this book is a blend of Harry Potter and Mistborn... AND after I read it and looked up reviews I learned it was actually based off of Hermione and Draco fanfiction, which makes so much sense. I am not going to lie its dark, but I couldn't put it down. The timelines are a little complex, in a good way they keep you mind engaged, just like a well crafted glass of wine, so I knew the wine pairing needed to be equally as engaging. The magic system in the book relies on resonance, a manipulable energy naturally present in people, matter, and metals. I thought it would be fun to play off the metal theme with a complex metalic/minerality driven wine. Thats how I landed on Moreau-Naudet Chablis. This is a minerality driven chardonnay from France. It is one of my favorite wines due to its ability to be refreshing and easy to drink, but at the same time extremely layerd and complex, just like the book!
